In 2002, our Dewitt facility was introduced to a new surface decoration technology called Immersion Graphics. This licensed process can be described as applying a decorative pattern with the use of water and film in a specially designed stainless steel tank.
The film is available in a variety of distinctive patterns, and designs that range from camouflage RealTree Products to high definition wood-grains, metallics, and more. To ensure product durability, automotive grade clear-coat is applied after the immersion process.
The special film is cut to size for each part and placed on top of the water in the dip tank. It is then sprayed with a special chemical activator which dissolves the film leaving the ink floating on the surface in a liquified form. The part is then immersed through the ink. The process is finalized by putting the part through drying and clearcoating to ensure weathering and wear standards are met.
This process is an alternative to conventional surface decorating. It's ideal for both interior and exterior applications from camouflage to wood-grain, brushed stainless to leather.
Plasti-Paint Inc can handle any painting job from simple one-color coatings to complex immersion graphics designs. To learn more about conventional painting,
