Painting Process

PPI’s clean-room application booths and sophisticated systems for pretreatment and inspection were designed and built to permit custom runs without compromising quality. Continual maintenance ensures consistency from part-to-part, batch-to-batch.

Pre-Treatment
The secret to a quality finish is an investment in a pretreatment program. Our state-of-the-art stainless steel 5-stage power wash ensures the quality of the painted parts you require.
  • Step 1: 140° F detergent wash
  • Step 2: Ambient rinse
  • Step 3: Ambient rinse
  • Step 4: Deionizing rinse
  • Step 5: Virgin deionizing rinse

Static Elimination
After pre-treatment, all parts are cleansed of static electricity. This process involves power drying the parts with turbulent heat, oven drying the parts, and using an ionizing destaticizer to eliminate all static electricity.

Our Paint Room
Typically, there are several thousand dust particles per cubic foot of air. In our clean room environment, there are fewer than 100 particles larger than.5 microns (.00002") Plasti-Paint utilizes a clean room environment for painting and electrostatic spray equipment for optimum transfer efficiency.
